Taizé Services
When we try to communicate with God in words (prayers), we may find that once we have been through our prayer 'menu' and requests, we are at a loss as to what to say or pray. The silence in a Taizé service gives us permission to ‘run out of prayers,’ and to simply sit in prayerful silence and expectation – expecting that God will meet us in ‘that place.’
A Taizé worship service involves sung and chanted prayers, liturgical readings, meditation, and silent prayer and reflection. There is no preaching at this service.
We offer a monthly Taizé service at All Saints Dianella. This is held on the first Thursday of the month. The next service will be held on: 8th February 2024 @ 6.30 pm.
THE ABOVEMENTIONED SERVICE IS CANCELLED!
The next service is 7th March 2024 @ 6.30 pm.
We look forward to you joining us at these services.
Taizé worship derives from a monastic community located in Taizé, France, founded in the 1940s by a Swiss named Roger Louis Schütz-Marsauche, familiarly called Brother Roger. There is an ecumenical emphasis at Taizé, which says the community “wants its life to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples.”
